Turkish Agency Provides Aid To Nigerian Refugees Fleeing Boko Haram Violence

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has provided food to 168 refugee families fleeing Boko Haram violence in northern Nigeria, the agency said in a statement Monday.
TIKA is helping refugees in the Durumi camp outside capital Abuja. Turkey's ambassador to Abuja, Hakan Cakil, was present when the food was delivered."The Turkish and Nigerian peoples are brothers," he said.
"Turkey will provide all necessary assistance to improve the conditions of displaced persons."
He added that TIKA was about to send three aid trucks to Borno state, where the conflict is fiercest.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan is currently on a tour of four west African states, including Nigeria.
