Kaduna: El-Rufai Signs New Tax Law to Improve Revenue Generation

The Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has signed has the new Tax Codification and Pension bill into law.
Speaking while appending his signature to the bill passed by the State House of Assembly on Friday at the Government House, Kaduna, the governor said the two laws will improve revenue generation and facilitate pension payments.
While lamenting the poor revenue generation in the state, El-Rufai noted that Kaduna State simply does not generate or collect enough internal revenues to deliver the services its residents deserve.
"We inherited a system that cannot even pay salaries without federal allocations which account for 75 per cent of state revenues" the governor said
