Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker Momoh Jimoh Impeached!

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Momoh Jimoh alongside his deputy, Aliyu Aku and minority leader, has been allegedly impeached.
His impeachment which was endorsed by 17 of the 25-member House was as a result of accusations of financial recklessness and misconduct. The Kogi State House of Assembly is made up of 14 PDP members and 11 APC members.
According to reports the impeachment of the Speaker may have been connected with politicking in the state to placate the people of Kogi East. It would be recalled that both the newly elected governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello and the impeached Speaker are from the same Okene Local Government Area.
Hon. Godwin Osiyi, who is a representative of the Ogori/Magongo Constituency, was elected as the new Speaker
