Fire At Ojuelegba As Fuel Tanker Burst into Flames.

A Forte Oil Fuel Tanker fully loaded with about 33,000 litres of petrol burst into flames in the early hours of this morning around 4am at Ojuelegba in Lagos.
The Petrol Tanker fell off the Ojuelegba bridge and exploded upon impact wit the ground.
The fire immediately spread through the canal within the area which completely razed a building located at Abimbola Shodipe by Western Avenue, Ojuelegba-Lagos.

The fence of the popular lotto house 'Baba Ijebu' was also burnt as patients of the Randle General Hospital were immediately evacuated after a building beside it was completely engulfed in the inferno.
Several commercial buses, popularly known as ‘danfo’ were completely burnt down under the Ojuelegba bridge. However, the number of casualty is yet to be known.

Just as the inferno was completely being put out by men of the Fire Service and traffic situation curtained, another burst of fire occurred by the barracks bustop in same Ojuelegba. Details of this second fire incidence is yet unknown, but relevant agencies at the scene are already putting out the fire.

There is heavy traffic on Western Avenue as the Ojuelegba - Stadium axis has been totally shut off by men of Lagos State Traffic Management Agency LASTMA.

Going to Lagos Island and Apapa is through Surulere and the traffic situation is also tense.
Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes
