To celebrate the birth of his daughter ,the Facebook founder/CEO is putting his money toward the future.
Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have finally welcomed their baby daughter Max into the world, and, as one does when counted among the most successful people on the planet, he celebrated her birth in a big way: By pledging nearly all of their Facebook fortune to making the world a better place.Yep.

In a lengthy Facebook letter addressed to Max on Tuesday (Dec. 1), Mark and Priscilla outlined their vision for the next generation “to live in a better world,” outlining a few key improvements that their vast fortune can help effectuate, including “promoting equality for all children in the next generation” through “personalized learning, curing disease, connecting people and building strong communities.”
Specifically, 99% of Mark and Priscilla (and Max)’s Facebook shares will be dedicated to this effort — by way of their Chan Zuckerberg Initiative — which, in current dollar figures, is “currently about $45 billion,” over the course of their lifetime.“Max, we love you and feel a great responsibility to leave the world a better place for you and all children,” Zuckerberg wrote.
