Today, ripped jeans have become staple garments in everyday wardrobe. Whether it is 'Casual Fridays' at the office, or carpooling your children to school, or date night at the trendy lounge in town, ripped jeans are always somewhere in the mix of things.

Nowadays, people are generally not looked down upon for wearing tattered denim. Sure, everyone has at least one family member that still wants to know where the rest of our jeans have gone to and why on Earth we would pay for an unfinished garment (once they learn that the jeans are meant to look a certain way).

However, ripped jeans are no longer a sign of poverty. Quite the opposite, actually. What was once a poor man's pant, now sells for anywhere between $50 - $300 and up, sometimes. Shredded denim is no longer solely associated with social outcasts or rebels. People from all walks of life enjoy a little breeze on their knees. Those who cannot afford certain privileges, such as new clothing, are no longer mocked for their attire. Instead, they are now the trendsetters, as they should be. As we should be.
